Care Providers Rank CCSI #1 Among Perinatal Information System Vendors in the Market for the Sixth, Consecutive Time

ELGIN, IL, – January 3, 2012 – Clinical Computer Systems, Inc. (CCSI) today announced that its OBIX® Perinatal Data System was ranked number one for labor and delivery systems in the 2011 KLAS® annual, year-end report1. This independent report compiled from feedback of health care executives and professionals covers health care information technology and professional services. It is the sixth, consecutive KLAS report in which the OBIX system has been ranked number one for labor and delivery systems. Previous KLAS research reports that ranked the OBIX system number one were published in December 20102, September 20103, December 20094, December 20085 and March 20086. The OBIX system received the highest overall score among systems that provide central surveillance, alerts, documentation and archiving capabilities for the labor and delivery environment. Of the products ranked, it received the highest ratings by customers in the categories of buy again and product quality.
The OBIX Perinatal Data System is a comprehensive system for central, bedside and remote electronic fetal monitoring that includes archiving, point-of-care charting, single-click management reports, and Internet-based physician access. The system’s open-architecture design combined with the latest Windows® operating systems facilitates both scalability and expansion. It can be site-configured to meet any OB department’s specific requirements and then easily expanded as needed. Decision support tools help clinicians improve their practices and promote patient safety in electronic fetal monitoring. In addition, the system is specifically designed for interfacing to other hospital departmental systems, hospital-wide charting solutions, and electronic medical record repositories.

“Receiving this recognition for the sixth, consecutive time is tremendously rewarding, because it reflects the strong relationships that we are striving to forge with our customers,” said Kim Sell, President of CCSI. “We recognize that the success and satisfaction of our customers goes beyond the performance of our software, and we’re most proud of our employees for the education, service, and support that they provide our customers. As our business grows, the expansion of our customer service teams gets first priority.” Pat Dwyer, Director of Business Development, added “We are also proud of the contributions that our business partners make to the satisfaction of our customers. Our collaborations with leading companies such as Epic and AirStrip have directly contributed towards improved customer workflow efficiencies and increased patient safety. CCSI now looks forward to the powerful decision support tools that our new partnerships with MedCPU and K2 Medical Systems can provide our customers.”
