Elgin, IL April 23, 2018 -Clinical Computer Systems, Inc. (CCSI), a leading provider of perinatal software, has successfully completed a Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 report, an internationally recognized standard developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) to set guidelines for auditors to objectively assess the internal controls of an organization. In addition, CCSI recently noted its achievement of Common Security Framework (CSF) certification status from the Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST).
“We know customers are concerned about data storage because healthcare information is highly confidential,” said CCSI Vice President, Regulatory Affairs & Quality Assurance Dick Bilof. “This third-party audit offers others the added reassurance that everything we do is secure and compliant.”
SOC 2 focuses on a business’ non-financial reporting controls as they relate to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of a system. It is based on Trust Services Principles (TSP), where defined criteria which must be met to demonstrate adherence to the principles and produce an unqualified opinion without any significant exceptions during the audit. For more information visit the AICPA website.
The HITRUST CSF provides structure, clarity, functionality and cross-references to authoritative sources. It includes national and internationally accepted standards including International Organization for Standardization (ISO), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Payment Card Industry (PCI) and HIPAA to ensure a comprehensive set of baseline security controls. It normalizes security requirements and provides clarity and consistency, reducing the burden of compliance with the varied requirements that apply to organizations.
