Airstrip Technologies And CCSI Enhance Remote Perinatal Monitoring Solution; Partnership Designed To Improve Safety, Communication

SAN ANTONIO, TX and ELGIN, IL  Dec. 22, 2008 – AirStrip Technologies, L.P., and Clinical Computer Systems, Incorporated (CCSI) have announced an agreement that will pair CCSI’s industry-leading OBIX Perinatal Data System with AirStrip’s signature application, AirStrip OB”.

As a leading provider of virtual, real-time, remote patient monitoring software, AirStrip Technologies offers a full suite of mobility applications designed to capture critical patient data and securely deliver that data to a physician’s handheld, convergent device such as an iPhone. AirStrip OB sends vital waveform data for both the mother and baby directly from the hospital’s labor and delivery unit to a physician’s mobile device. Doctors can access this vital information anytime and anywhere they have a cell-phone connection. AirStrip OB support for the iPhone and BlackBerry is due to be released within the next month.

Ranked number one in the 2008 KLAS® report* on labor and delivery systems, the OBIX Perinatal Data System is a comprehensive, computerized system for central, bedside and remote electronic fetal monitoring (EFM). The system includes archiving, point-of-care charting and Internet-based, remote physician access. The OBIX system’sexclusive E-Tools for EFM assessment provide decision support that helps clinicians improve their practice, educate their staff and promote patient safety in electronic fetal monitoring.

The AirStrip-CCSI pairing will deliver mobile, virtual-real-time access to patient data for enhanced, comprehensive obstetrical data management, increasing the ability of physicians to closely monitor their patients. AirStrip and CCSI will offer AirStrip OB as part of a suite of services to both current and prospective users of the OBIX system. “

We are excited to take this major step forward in improving the value of the OBIX system to our customers,” said Kim Sell, President of CCSI. “By joining forces with AirStrip, we reinforce our commitment to the connectivity of our customers to vital clinical data, anytime, anywhere and offer caregivers the ability to greatly improve their communication and monitoring capabilities. Together, AirStrip OB and OBIX provide an enhanced system that ultimately seeks to improve patient outcomes. “

With more than 50 hospitals using AirStrip OB, we are proud to be leading the movement toward setting a new standard of care in obstetrics,” said AirStrip President and CMO Dr. Cameron Powell. “Our partnership with CCSI allows us to jointly address the issues that can help improve safety and communication while at the same time reduce risk and improve the day-to-day life of obstetricians.”
